Speaker:

They're the joyful agains our children shout on the swings, the

2

:

exhausting agains of cooking and laundry,

and the difficult agains of discipline.

3

:

So much of what we do

as mothers is on repeat.

4

:

So what if we woke up with clarity,

knowing which agains we were called

5

:

to, and went to bed believing we

are faithful in what matters most?

6

:

We believe God's Word is

the key to untangle from the

7

:

confusion and overwhelm we feel.

8

:

Let's look up together to embrace a

motherhood full of freedom and joy.

9

:

Stephanie: Welcome to the again, podcast.

10

:

I'm your host, Stephanie Hickox.

11

:

And this is brought to you

by entrusted ministries.

12

:

As delightful as summer is it opens up

a world of potential and possibilities.

13

:

I would love to cover you and

your children with prayer.

14

:

So that you may enter this season,

joyfully and intentionally.

15

:

Before I get to that prayer.

16

:

I want to take a moment to encourage you.

17

:

About what to make a

priority to this summer.

18

:

We all know that before we

know it, our calendar pages

19

:

are going to turn to August.

20

:

Or even September.

21

:

And it will feel that the summer flew by.

22

:

And hopefully we'll have plenty

of memories to look back at.

23

:

That we've created with our children.

24

:

But I want to encourage you.

25

:

To take this opportunity.

26

:

At, as your routine is going

to change that you make.

27

:

It a habit and a commitment.

28

:

To spend time in the word episode

seven, untangling our commitment

29

:

to the word, practical ways to

prioritize time with the Lord.

30

:

Jenna.

31

:

And I talked about just how we made

our time in the word of priority.

32

:

Having young children.

33

:

even if you have children, Swarming around

you, you can make time to be in the word.

34

:

I think this was one of our most

practical episodes, so I really

35

:

encourage you to look back at that.

36

:

James clear the best-selling author of.

37

:

Atomic habits.

38

:

Says that to create a habit.

39

:

We need to define when we will do it.

40

:

And where we will do it.

41

:

And we also need to say the

identity that's tied to it.

42

:

For example, instead of saying this

summer, I plan to read my Bible every day.

43

:

You would say this summer?

44

:

I will open my Bible.

45

:

Every day at 7:00 AM.

46

:

In my favorite chair.

47

:

So that I can become a person

that knows and loves God deeper.

48

:

That might look absolutely

different for you.

49

:

It might mean opening up the word.

50

:

At the breakfast table with

your children every day.

51

:

But setting a time and a location.

52

:

assigning an identity.

53

:

And a reason for why you want

to accomplish that habit will

54

:

make it so much more likely.

55

:

To have been achieved.

56

:

So I encourage you, whatever

your summer bucket list may be.

57

:

That being in God's word

would be at the top of it.

58

:

And we would love to help equip

you for being in the word.

59

:

We have a curriculum entitled.

60

:

Get the word out that Betsy and

David Corning have been developing

61

:

for over 20 years through

their own personal devotions.

62

:

And we are getting ready

to launch that shortly.

63

:

Betsy, and I are in the process

of recording some episodes

64

:

to explain just how fruitful.

65

:

These Bible study tools

can be in your own life.

66

:

So stay tuned for that.

67

:

All right, let's get to that prayer.

68

:

Heavenly father.

69

:

We humbly come before you.

70

:

And ask for peace and joy to

reign in our homes this summer.

71

:

May the sound of laughter and

praise characterize our days

72

:

and let it begin with us.

73

:

May we embrace duties with diligence

and model for our children that our

74

:

blessings, are gifts to be stewarded,

not annoyances to attend to.

75

:

May we train our children in holy

habits that will bless their futures.

76

:

But never value the task over the child.

77

:

May we be salt and light.

78

:

But protect us from harmful encounters.

79

:

When difficult topics

need to be addressed.

80

:

Give us your words.

81

:

So that we may highlight the

goodness of your commands.

82

:

Open doors and open hearts so

that eternities would be changed.

83

:

Allow us to be part of

connecting the loss to you.

84

:

Oh, savior.

85

:

May the sunshine be a reminder To bask

in your goodness and embrace your rest.

86

:

Help us to also train our children

to love you with all their strength.

87

:

And model for them to get up and move.

88

:

Help our times of work to be

diligent, any efficient that we may

89

:

be fully present with our children.

90

:

May we know and understand that

our presence is one of the greatest

91

:

gifts we can give our children

and not rush to substitute it with

92

:

experiences and extravagances.

93

:

When blessings do come, may we

give you all the glory and may

94

:

it inspire us to give generously.

95

:

Give us eyes to see who we

should serve and hands that

96

:

rush to write words of gratitude.

97

:

And lips that quickly speak

words of encouragement.

98

:

May we faithfully point our children

to your redemption and goodness,

99

:

without picking up the weight of

their salvation and sanctification.

100

:

Please protect us from accidents

and injuries and pestilence.

101

:

But when we encounter difficulties,

may we feel you at our side.

102

:

Give us wisdom to know when to seek

additional help and when to be patient

103

:

with the wisdom you've already provided.

104

:

And when suffering and trials occur.

105

:

Help us to see our goodness in them,

training our minds, that in all things

106

:

you are working to make those who

are yours into the image of your son.

107

:

When we are overwhelmed, help us to

run to your word and not to the world.

108

:

Give us insight to know which

solutions to seek first and which

109

:

should be tackled another time.

110

:

When we need to press in for

practical wisdom, help us to lay

111

:

down comparison, perfectionism,

shame, despair and discouragement.

112

:

Guide us to systems that are maintainable

and bring order in our homes , but

113

:

let us never forget that the only

true peace is found in your presence.

114

:

When we need to course

correct or set a new standard.

115

:

Help us to do so with

kindness and humility.

116

:

So that our children are more

apt to adapt to a better way.

117

:

When we are tired, teach us to

lessen our lists and order our

118

:

days with hearts of wisdom.

119

:

Help us to let go when it is wise

and give us strength to persevere

120

:

when you are calling us to press on.

121

:

May we set wise boundaries for ourselves.

122

:

Make us aware of what produces

anxiety, fear and overwhelm in us.

123

:

And provide us with the courage

to lessen those influences.

124

:

When we feel lonely, teach us to run

to you and not take it lightly that

125

:

you have called us your friends.

126

:

Still teach us to diligently

seek fellowship with your people.

127

:

May every perfectly right Berry or evenly

roasted marshmallow, we bite into lead

128

:

us to praise you oh, perfect father.

129

:

And delight in the simple gifts

you give your children every day.

130

:

Teach us to diligently plan and

prepare; but let us hold our plans

131

:

loosely when the unexpected occurs.

132

:

Teach us to embrace your

agenda over our own.

133

:

Do not allow us to ignore the

sandpaper sound of sibling disputes.

134

:

But help us to see these

instances as opportunities to

135

:

teach abiding relational lessons.

136

:

Guide us to know when we are needed

and when to allow our children to

137

:

arrive at solutions independently.

138

:

May we motivate them joyfully but never

robbed them of doing the right thing for

139

:

the right reason, which is to please you.

140

:

Oh Lord.

141

:

Help us train our children and

make them aware of the majesty,

142

:

power, and danger of water.

143

:

While also helping them delight

in its joys and possibilities.

144

:

Allow us to guide our children

and purity and righteousness.

145

:

Teach us the battles to fight for

their goodness and your glory.

146

:

Yet, guide us to increase their freedom

in an age appropriate manner that prepares

147

:

them to serve you on their own someday.

148

:

May your word and your voice be the voice

we cling to most and would we increasingly

149

:

live in the freedom you purchased for us.

150

:

Then, and only then will we

be the mothers we long to be.

151

:

And even when we have been patient,

kind, and loving h elp us to delight

152

:

that we pale in comparison to

our perfect heavenly father.

153

:

In the mighty matchless name

of Jesus Christ we pray.

154

:

Amen.
