Speaker:

They're the joyful agains our children shout on the swings, the

2

:

exhausting agains of cooking and laundry,

and the difficult agains of discipline.

3

:

So much of what we do

as mothers is on repeat.

4

:

So what if we woke up with clarity,

knowing which agains we were called

5

:

to, and went to bed believing we

are faithful in what matters most?

6

:

We believe God's Word is

the key to untangle from the

7

:

confusion and overwhelm we feel.

8

:

Let's look up together to embrace a

motherhood full of freedom and joy.

9

:

Stephanie: Welcome to the again, podcast.

10

:

I'm your host, Stephanie Hickox.

11

:

And this is brought to you

by entrusted ministries.

12

:

As delightful as summer is it opens up

a world of potential and possibilities.

13

:

I would love to cover you and

your children with prayer.

14

:

So that you may enter this season,

joyfully and intentionally.

15

:

Heavenly father.

16

:

We humbly come before you.

17

:

And ask for peace and joy to

reign in our homes this summer.

18

:

May the sound of laughter and

praise characterize our days

19

:

and let it begin with us.

20

:

May we embrace duties with diligence

and model for our children that our

21

:

blessings, are gifts to be stewarded,

not annoyances to attend to.

22

:

May we train our children in holy

habits that will bless their futures.

23

:

But never value the task over the child.

24

:

May we be salt and light.

25

:

But protect us from harmful encounters.

26

:

When difficult topics

need to be addressed.

27

:

Give us your words.

28

:

So that we may highlight the

goodness of your commands.

29

:

Open doors and open hearts so

that eternities would be changed.

30

:

Allow us to be part of

connecting the loss to you.

31

:

Oh, savior.

32

:

May the sunshine be a reminder To bask

in your goodness and embrace your rest.

33

:

Help us to also train our children

to love you with all their strength.

34

:

And model for them to get up and move.

35

:

Help our times of work to be

diligent, any efficient that we may

36

:

be fully present with our children.

37

:

May we know and understand that

our presence is one of the greatest

38

:

gifts we can give our children

and not rush to substitute it with

39

:

experiences and extravagances.

40

:

When blessings do come, may we

give you all the glory and may

41

:

it inspire us to give generously.

42

:

Give us eyes to see who we

should serve and hands that

43

:

rush to write words of gratitude.

44

:

And lips that quickly speak

words of encouragement.

45

:

May we faithfully point our children

to your redemption and goodness,

46

:

without picking up the weight of

their salvation and sanctification.

47

:

Please protect us from accidents

and injuries . But when we encounter

48

:

difficulties, may we feel you at our side.

49

:

Give us wisdom to know when to seek

additional help and when to be patient

50

:

with the wisdom you've already provided.

51

:

And when suffering and trials occur.

52

:

Help us to see our goodness in them,

training our minds, that in all things

53

:

you are working to make those who

are yours into the image of your son.

54

:

When we are overwhelmed, help us to

run to your word and not to the world.

55

:

Give us insight to know which

solutions to seek first and which

56

:

should be tackled another time.

57

:

When we need to press in for

practical wisdom, help us to lay

58

:

down comparison, perfectionism,

shame, despair and discouragement.

59

:

Guide us to systems that are maintainable

and bring order in our homes , but

60

:

let us never forget that the only

true peace is found in your presence.

61

:

When we need to course

correct or set a new standard.

62

:

Help us to do so with

kindness and humility.

63

:

So that our children are more

apt to adapt to a better way.

64

:

When we are tired, teach us to

lessen our lists and order our

65

:

days with hearts of wisdom.

66

:

Help us to let go when it is wise

and give us strength to persevere

67

:

when you are calling us to press on.

68

:

May we set wise boundaries for ourselves.

69

:

Make us aware of what produces

anxiety, fear and overwhelm in us.

70

:

And provide us with the courage

to lessen those influences.

71

:

When we feel lonely, teach us to run

to you and not take it lightly that

72

:

you have called us your friends.

73

:

Still teach us to diligently

seek fellowship with your people.

74

:

May every perfectly right Berry or evenly

roasted marshmallow, we bite into lead

75

:

us to praise you oh, perfect father.

76

:

And delight in the simple gifts

you give your children every day.

77

:

Teach us to diligently plan and

prepare; but let us hold our plans

78

:

loosely when the unexpected occurs.

79

:

Teach us to embrace your

agenda over our own.

80

:

Do not allow us to ignore the

sandpaper sound of sibling disputes.

81

:

But help us to see these

instances as opportunities to

82

:

teach abiding relational lessons.

83

:

Guide us to know when we are needed

and when to allow our children to

84

:

arrive at solutions independently.

85

:

May we motivate them joyfully but never

robbed them of doing the right thing for

86

:

the right reason, which is to please you.

87

:

Oh Lord.

88

:

Help us train our children and

make them aware of the majesty,

89

:

power, and danger of water.

90

:

While also helping them delight

in its joys and possibilities.

91

:

Allow us to guide our children

and purity and righteousness.

92

:

Teach us the battles to fight for

their goodness and your glory.

93

:

Yet, guide us to increase their freedom

in an age appropriate manner that prepares

94

:

them to serve you on their own someday.

95

:

May your word and your voice be the voice

we cling to most and would we increasingly

96

:

live in the freedom you purchased for us.

97

:

Then, and only then will we

be the mothers we long to be.

98

:

And even when we have been patient,

kind, and loving h elp us to delight

99

:

that we pale in comparison to

our perfect heavenly father.

100

:

In the mighty matchless name

of Jesus Christ we pray.

101

:

Amen.

Stephanie has always delighted in God’s Word and in sharing it with others. Whether it is equipping mothers and leaders through Entrusted with a Child’s Heart, inspiring students when teaching at homeschool co-ops or children’s ministry, or homeschooling her own children, Stephanie’s life mission is to encourage others to follow faithfully and joyfully after Jesus—especially if they hold her favorite job title: mom.

Betsy Corning wrote Entrusted with a Child’s Heart in 1999 in response to the needs she saw in families as she and David counseled young parents just a few years behind them. Entrusted has been taught in hundreds of churches nationwide, been translated into several foreign languages, and has made its way around the world. More recently, Betsy received her Masters in Biblical Studies from The Master’s University and is developing a new Bible Study program called Get the Word Out. Her passion for God’s Word, discipleship, and teaching biblical principles as they apply to family life has remained strong to this day. One of the greatest blessings in Betsy’s life are her three grown children, their spouses, and ten grandchildren that keep her constantly in touch with every age and stage.
